Built for this streetscape
Forms, finishes, and scale are selected around actual planters, sidewalks, storefront sightlines, and City direction.
Prepared for Bonne Terre Downtown Property Owners Association
A streetscape concept for Bonne Terre, Missouri—pairing historic character with locally fabricated metal garden art in and around downtown planters.
Illustrative concept rendering · not a construction drawingThe opportunity
The concept begins with the planters and pedestrian-scale spaces already present downtown. Custom metal forms can introduce warmth, color, movement, and a recognizable point of pride—without competing with Bonne Terre’s historic storefronts.
Forms, finishes, and scale are selected around actual planters, sidewalks, storefront sightlines, and City direction.
Weather-ready steel and practical mounting approaches support an installation intended to age gracefully in public space.
The City can begin with a pilot group of planters, then extend a successful visual language over time.
Form studies
These are inspiration and build-direction references—not a catalog of completed work. Final pieces would be locally fabricated and adapted to the selected downtown locations, desired scale, budget, and City feedback.
Reference imagery is included solely to communicate possible form, material, and installation directions. It does not represent a claim of ownership or a promise to replicate any individual work.
The concept, closer up
This rendering makes the main idea tangible: familiar downtown planters can become a repeating canvas for weathered-steel flowers, radial forms, and sculptural stems.
Each location can be deliberately different while sharing the same warm, handcrafted material language. The result is not a row of identical objects—it is a connected downtown experience that invites people to look, walk, and linger.
Final forms, placement, scale, and finish would be developed around the Association’s priorities and the conditions of each selected site.
A local, place-specific addition
This is an early conversation piece: a flexible concept for custom metal artwork that can be shaped around the City’s spaces, priorities, and community character.
